Submission Guidelines

Submission Types & Requirements

We will accept two kinds of submissions: top-down view and bottom-up view submissions.

Top-down submissions examine topics in the areas of theory building and/or Open Science from a viewpoint not specific to a certain substantive research field. These submissions deal with the topics of the conference with a more abstracted view. You can for example cover topics such as methods (critique), metascience, inference or philosophy of science.          Example from the conference program: “Coordination as the missing link between open science and theory building”.

Bottom-up submissions start from a substantive research question and relate that question to the topics of theory building and/or Open Science. These submissions deal with the topics of the conference based on a concrete example of your own work. You can for example cover topics such as the advance of theories in your own field, open science practices in your own field or a critique of methods in your own field.

Example from the conference program: “Effect Size Interpretation in Educational Research”

Abstracts should be short and concise, containing between 200 and 400 words (excluding references) and a max. 100-character title. Please follow APA 7 guidelines. We will review all submissions as soon as they are submitted and all decisions will be sent out by April 15th.

If you have any further questions about the submissions, please write an email to dwayne.lieck@psychologie.uni-freiburg.de
