University's Teaching Award for Dipl.-Psych. Lisa Hüther by Michael Stumpf, last updated: Aug 26, 2014 12:21 PM
Dipl.-Psych. Lisa Hüther (General Psychology, Cognition, Emotion, Communication, Culture) is the recipient of the University's Teaching Award (Universitätslehrpreis) for her seminar Culture and Cognition. The course is geared towards students of both psychology masters. The concept enables students to discuss intercultural research findings on a high level and with great learning success without prior specific knowledge on the subject(s). Key of the concept is the students' composing of 'reading protocols' on basic texts about cultural and linguistic influences on psychological research topics before every session. In these protocols, students have to critically and individually deal with the contents and are thus well prepared to intensely discuss and apply their shared knowledge during class sessions by, for instance, developing their own research designs or implementing small experiments.
