Research Interests

The general aim of my research is to understand how our cognitive system produces temporal experience. Specifically, I investigate how situational factors like autonomy or room atmosphere in real, and virtual, spaces affects our awareness of the flow of time. Theoretically, I analyze how the concept of “atmosphere” can be employed to bridge different disciplines like musicology, museology, environmental science, and architecture.

I am running the project together with Roland Thomaschke. We collaborate with Miriam Rueß, Hans W. Hubert, and Lorenz Orendi.
