Time, Interaction, and Self-determination
Although we do not have a dedicated perceptual organ sensing the flow of time, time-related thoughts and feelings play an essential role in our mental life.
The overarching goal of this research group is the understanding of mental time from different complementing perspectives, accounting for the diversity and complexity of time-related cognitive processing, as well as for the abundant richness of temporal experience.
We investigate mental time processing as an embodied phenomenon, essentially driving and regulating our behavior and experience, from the microlevel of sub-second accurate interactions to the macrolevel of experiencing ourselves as self-determined individuals structuring our lifetime.
